Crazy Read 2018 – #3  The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck

Book Title:   The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck

Author:         Mark Manson

Length:         210

Score:            3/10

What I Loved

Not a lot. To be honest? I couldn’t get past the first 100 pages.

I did like this line though:

“to not give a fuck is to stare down life’s most terrifying and difficult challenges and still take action” and “to not give a fuck about adversity, you must first give a fuck about something more important that adversity”

What I didn’t love

It was aggressive. I started reading obviously knowing the language but was not quite prepared to feel assaulted by it!

I am a lover of the word fuck and I couldn’t even handle it. It didn’t feel used well. It felt like a constant slap and angry. Not a fan!!

2 days into this as my morning reading and it had shifted my mood more than you could imagine. It was a definite “garbage in garbage out” feel to me.

Clients, my husband, and even friends started to hear it in my voice and I was embarrassed that it took me so long to notice!

I had to put it down and walk away from it. I just couldn’t do it.

Who I would recommend it to:

No one.

Would I read it again?

Nope! I would love to read a review on it where they pulled out the nuggets without me having to brace myself to read it.
