Crazy Read 2018 – You Are A Badass
What I Loved
Oh Jen, you write a good book!! Keep ‘em coming. We are all Badasses. Whether we know it or not or want to believe it or not, we are.
You are a Badass is an in your face, get off your ass, step up and start doing it kind of book.
Sincero makes you believe you can take on the world! And guess what? You can!
A review on Goodreads.com sums up the plot well, saying,
“You are a Badass will help you: Identify and change the self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors that stop you from getting what you want.
By the end of this book, you’ll understand why you are, how you are, how to love what you can’t change, how to change what you don’t love, and how to use The Force to kick some serious ass.”
A few favorite quotes from this book were,
“Our thoughts become our words, our words become our beliefs, our beliefs become our actions, our actions become our habits, and our habits become our realities.” All of a sudden, you don’t want those negative thoughts anymore.
She also says, “When you love yourself enough to stand in your truth no matter what the cost, everyone benefits.”
This is something I talk and think about a lot. I fight this sentiment more than I care to admit because sometimes it can be so hard to love myself. So hard!
Another quote from the book is, “Forgiveness is all about taking care of you, not the person you need to forgive”
Can I get an AMEN?!?!?! But no, seriously, this is HUGE. It has made forgiveness both easier and harder for me.
I forgive WAY faster now, but I am also not willing to continue to put up with crap anymore!
And for a funnier one?“ Lame, vague goals are the best way to live a lame, vague life.”
The one thing I find amazing about her books are all the one liners. They resonated with me and packed a huge punch.
At some point I might spend a week where all I do is listen to her books and see what happens to my brain! A little bit every day because I would love to have all this wisdom in my brain forever.
For me, there’s no way I can memorize an entire book, and yet with hers I would love to.
